Ganpati Educational Society
Established in 2003, Ganpati Educational Society began its dedicated work in the field of disability in 2005. The society strives to make the lives of underprivileged individuals and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) more dignified, meaningful, and self-reliant, ensuring they receive all rights guaranteed by the Constitution of India.
Rural Rehabilitation & Health: We conduct regular free health camps and offer ongoing counseling services to poor and remote Himalayan communities.
Skill Development & Vocational Training: We train Persons with Disabilities in practical skills to help them achieve financial independence. Training includes:
Day Care & Home-Based Education: We run the Disha-Cum-Vikas Day Care Centre near the Civil Hospital in Kunihar, where daily meals (day food facilities) are provided. For individuals unable to travel due to severe physical or environmental barriers, we provide specialized home-based education. To date, we support over 200 families of persons with disabilities.
Legal Guardianship (LLC): Under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner of Solan, we operate a Local Level Committee (LLC) that appoints legal guardians for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Holistic Development & Well-being: We partner with The Art of Living Foundation (founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar) to teach meditation, concentration, and basic yogic exercises to both neurotypical and special needs children. We also regularly organize specialized medical and therapeutic camps alongside national and cultural event celebrations.
Through Special Olympics Bharat, our athletes regularly participate in national and international sporting events. Notable achievements include:
Mr. Sher Singh generously donated a 4-bigha plot of land in Kamla Village (1.5 km from Kunihar) to support our expanded vision.
Construction of the dedicated playground project in Kamla Village has commenced and is nearly complete.
